Dog Treats
As it turns out, dog treats are just about as easy to bake as human treats. You have to be careful about what to not put in (raisins, for example, are doggy no-nos), but other than that you can get really creative. Plus, when something tastes a little off, you aren’t likely to hear the dog complaining.
The treats I made for this particular post don’t look pretty, but Buster was eating them like no tomorrow.
The ingredients were: Oats Peanut Butter Shredded Carrots Unsweetened applesauce A tiny bit of honey on top
That’s it! Then you mix them up and throw the whole thing in the oven. I tend to bake them when I am baking something else already so the oven is already turned on and hot. So it ends up being baked at whatever temperature the other thing in the oven calls for. This means that you have to watch it more closely, but hey, I’m in the kitchen anyway, right?
It is really easy, you can completely control the ingredients, and it doesn’t cost much. Since there aren’t any preservatives, you need to either feed them quickly, refridgerate them so that they last a little longer, or freeze them.
